The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) formally awarded Marikina City with the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).
City Mayor Marcy Teodoro accepted the recognition from DILG Regional Director Maria Lourdes Agustin. The SGLG symbolizes the Marikina government’s honesty, efficency, and efforts to provide the highest level of management in various sectors, namely financial administration and sustainability, disaster preparedness, social protection and sensitivity, health compliance and responsiveness, sustainable education, business-friendliness and competitiveness, safety, peace, and order, environmental management, tourism, heritage development, culture and the arts, and youth development.
Also present during the momentous event were Vice Mayor Marion Andres and Sangguniang Panglungsod members, DILG-Marikina led by City Director Mary Jane Nacario, Marikina government agency heads, and city government offices heads.
