For the sixth straight year, leading customer experience and digital services company TELUS International Philippines participated in the Department of Education’s annual Brigada Eskwela, a program that mobilizes volunteers to renovate and clean public schools in time for the upcoming school year.

On May 25, TELUS International Philippines organized more than 2,400 volunteers for the TELUS Days of Giving, a company-wide giving back program that showcases the firm's caring culture.

Volunteers transformed Victorino Mapa High School, one of the oldest educational institutions in the city of Manila. Team members rehabilitated the school’s two campuses, both located in San Miguel, Manila, with 100 classrooms which will be used by more than 3,100 high school students this coming school year.

Other volunteers of the 2,400-strong group paint and varnish classroom chairs to be used by students in one of Manila's oldest schools.

“Every year, I am impressed by our Philippines team of exceptional professionals who inspire TELUS International team members around the world with their dedication to helping those in need,” says Jeffrey Puritt, president and CEO of TELUS International.

“For 13 years, TELUS International Philippines has been hosting TELUS Days of Giving and improving the lives of Filipinos by sharing our heart-felt commitment to “give where we live,” he added.

“TELUS International Philippines owes its continued success to each individual who works tirelessly day in and day out,” Rajiv Dhand, Regional vice president and general manager of TELUS International Philippines added.

“Our caring culture fosters a cycle of giving, and a desire to extend the impact of this growth to the communities around us. Our vision is to build a more inclusive and enabling environment for our team members and the communities where we operate," he said.

Over the last six years, with the contributions of more than 14,000 team members, TELUS International Philippines has dedicated more than 62,350 hours through TELUS Days of Giving to help improve seven schools in Metro Manila, benefitting an estimated 35,000 students.

In 2018, the TELUS Days of Giving and other Corporate Social Responsibility activities wwer instrumental in driving employee engagement and participation, earning TELUS International Philippines a 90% employee engagement rating from Aon and the Best Employer recognition from Aon Best Employers Program Awards and the Asia Corporate Excellence & Sustainability Awards.
