The Department of the Interior and Local Government on Wednesday awarded P2.4 million to the local city government of Caloocan, through Mayor Oscar Malapitan, for winning the Seal of Good Local Governance for three straight years.

DILG Assistant Director for National Capital Region Juan Jovian Ingeniero personally handed the check to Malapitan. Ingeniero was assisted by DILG Director Analyn Baltazar Cortez.

According to Cortez, “Caloocan City is one of the country’s unique cities, despite their restrictions on criteria and higher assessment levels, has earned three consecutive SGLG awards in 2015, 2016 and 2017.”
