Manila Police District operatives have arrested four suspected carjackers victimizing Uber and Grab drivers over the weekend.
The MPD identified the suspects as Wilfredo Alejandro, Jhon Lester Crispe, Russel Jimenez and Arvin Alejandro, who were nabbed in an operation on Abad Santos Street in Tondo, Manila on Saturday afternoon.
Follow-up operations are being conducted against the cohorts of the suspects.
A victim, identified as Victor Calacar, said the suspects were the ones who carjacked his vehicle in Manila.
Another victim, Michael Panaligan, said Jimenez and Arvin Alejandro carnapped his car sometime in October.
Arvin Alejandro, however, claimed he was in jail during the time and had just been recently released.
The three other suspects admitted they took Calacar’s car.
They said they have stolen at least three Grab and Uber cars and bring the stolen vehicles to a certain alias “Sultan” in Cavite.
Crispe said “Sultan” would pay them with cash and drugs.
