Public elementary students in Muntinlupa are set to receive free school uniforms and school supplies from the city government.

Muntinlupa City Administrator engineer Allan Cachuela led the distribution of materials on Monday during the opening of Brigada Eskwela 2017.

Cachuela said the initiative to provide free supplies for public elementary students is to help parents with school expenses and boost students’ drive to study well.

Every beneficiary will be receiving notebooks, pencils, bags, writing pads, among others while uniforms are locally made by the Muntinlupa City Technical Institute.

In the spirit of “bayanihan,” Muntinlupa City Government offices also joined hands with local schools and provided cleaning materials for the duration of Brigada Eskwela.

Local government offices participated in the clean-up drive to 27 public schools that will run until May 20. Members of the private sector and the Philippine Army also took part in the activity.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi vowed to continue his support to the education sector. Fresnedi said he will continue the expanded scholarship program which serves to almost 50,000 scholars who receive quarterly allowances.

Touted as the “Education Mayor,” Fresnedi assures Muntinlupa residents that the city government under his leadership is committed in helping family members to have access in education.
