Maragondon mayor bares accomplishments in 2 years in office

MARAGONDON, Cavite. — Mayor Lawrence ‘Umbe’ Arca expressed his achievements during his two-year tenure as local chief executive here in front of the citizens here in the State-of-the-municipal-address (SOMA) on Friday, June 28, 2024 at the municipal covered court in Barangay Poblacion.

In his report, for the total of two years in office as local chief executive, he allocated funds for infrastructure projects such as access roads, multi purpose hall and day care center in Kaingen, Poblacion 1-A, 1-B and 2 -A, 2-B, Brgy. Bucal, Tulay B, and Talipusngo.

The municipal government also arranged for the local cemetery to give a decent burial to the less fortunate.

It also includes the community electrification program in Barangay Pantihan in Brgy. Pantihan 1, 2, 3 and Brgy. Bridge B to increase the quality of life in their community.

The mayor also mentioned the six brand new ambulances to be used to bring patients to the hospital including the explanation of the installation of street lights throughout the town.

During his 32 years as a public service, Arca ensured that he would provide a quality service to the people of Maragondon.

The Buhay Ingatan Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA) campaign was also held in collaboration with the Cavite PDEA for Maragondon̈es youth as pronounced drug cleared town.

The payout for almost 3,000 citizens was also made here by Assistance to Individuals in Crisiis Situation (AICS) with Senator Ramon ‘Bong’ Revilla and Agimat Partylist Congressman Bryan Revilla.

Around 1,856 senior citizens, 550 senior high graduates, 244 PWDs and 348 from TODA were benefited of the program.

For the six-day activities here, ‘Dugong Alay, Dugtong Buhay bloodletting activity project was held in collaboration with the Rural Health Unit.

Hundreds of residents here benefited from the Medical and Dental Mission for free medicine, check up and dental service this June 25 at the town plaza covered court.

The Cavite Career Caravan Maragondon-leg was also held from the Cavite Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) which opened jobs for the locals and abroad in the Job Fair held in collaboration with various companies in the province and the country on June 26 with the national agencies SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-ibig, TESDA, OWWA, BIR, PSA, NBI and DOLE.

On the other hand, 25 couples exchanged vows at the local government in the ‘Kasalang Bayan’ for this year’s free marriage, one of the social services of the local government, on June 27.

The LGU also 8took 100 young Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) to the Manila Ocean Park to entertain them, Mayor Arca said in closing.
