Herbosa, Revilla lead turnover of biggest Mega Health Center in Cavite

CAVITE CITY – Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa and Cavite 1st District Rep. Ramon ‘Jolo’ B. Revilla III led the ribbon cutting and turnover ceremony on Friday, March 22, for the newly constructed Cavite City MedCare Mega Health Center in Sea Breeze, Barangay 28 here.

Along with Revilla during the event were Asec. Ariel Valencia, Cavite City Mayor Denver Reyes Chua, Vice Mayor Raleigh Rusit, Board Member Ram Revilla-Bautista, Dr. Jerome Morada and other local officials.

The new three-storey, 100-bed mega health center is a joint priority project of Rep. Jolo Revilla and Senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr. Its construction started in 2022.

It is expected to provide outpatient, diagnostic, birthing, and pharmacy services and is planned to be upgraded to an infirmary soon.

In his message of acceptance, Mayor Chua expressed his gratitude to the Revillas and ensured that the facility would be maximized to deliver free, accessible, and quality public health care services to the Caviteños.

Herboso considered this project as biggest health center in Calabarzon Region with complete facilities.

The newly constructed building has delivery and recovery rooms, operating rooms, pharmacy, doctors room, emergency, medical records and out patient room.

Rep. Revilla highlighted in his opening message the hope that the new facility caters to the needs of the district’s growing population and resolves the problem of overcrowded hospitals and limited health services.

“Ang noo’y pangarap lang natin, ngayon ay nagkatotoo na. Lalo pa nating aayusin at pagagandahin ang serbisyo ng pasilidad na ito para sa bawat Caviteño, ” he stated.

Moreover, Herbosa reassured the public that the DOH will continue its commitment to improving the quality of health services in the country, and will support the efforts of local government officials and units to alleviate poverty through the 8-point action agenda of the department.

“Ang pagtatayo ng mga Mega Health Center tulad nito ay isang pamamaraan upang maabot natin at mapalakas ang universal health care. Dahil sa Bagong Pilipinas, ang bawat buhay ay mahalaga,” Herbosa said in his keynote message.

Herbosa also pledged to work on the immediate provision of necessary equipment to ensure the efficiency of the new facility.

Immediately after the turnover ceremony, the blessing of a new ambulance and the whole building premises were held.

Meanwhile, the 3-storey building on the 1,500 square meter government property Cavite City MedCare Mega Health Center is expected to be fully operational by April 2024.
