In promoting love for nature, preservation of natural resources, and honoring the turtles and the Pawikan Rangers who care for them, the Pawikan Festival 2024 was held this Jan. 15 at PawiCare, Brgy. La Paz.
The celebration opened with a colorful parade attended by various sectors. Present during the festivities were officials and employees led by San Narciso Mayor La Rainne Abad-Sarmiento, among many others.
There was a ceremonial release of the pawikan hatchlings, which the attendees watched enthrallingly. In the smiles and applause that brought the hatchlings, there was a prayer that they would return to Philippine shores.
The 2024 Pawikan Festival also serves as an inspiration and reminder to everyone that protecting nature is the responsibility of every individual.
