ILAGAN CITY, Isabela – The Bambanti Festival 2024 countdown began on Jan. 12 following the final executive committee meeting conducted by Isabela Vice Governor Faustino “Bojie” Dy III at the Balai Isabela Provincial Capitol Compound.

Everything is in place for Isabela’s Bambanti Festival 2024, according to Vice Governor Dy III, Bambanti 2024 Director General and chair of the executive committee.

This year’s Bambanti Festival theme is “Ettam ngana ta Isabela” (Tara na sa Isabela). This tourism marketing campaign, in Ibanag language, invites visitors to explore, experience, and embrace the Queen Province of the North’s charms.

The festival competitions will be separated into two categories: Category A for cities and municipalities of the first class, and Category B for municipalities of the second to fifth classes.

The province administration has planned stunning shows that will run from Jan. 22 to 27.

The Search for Queen Isabela 2024, Agri-Ecotourism Exhibit and Sale, Giant Bambanti Showcase, Street Dance and Dance Showdown Competitions, Festival King and Queen, Makan ken Mainum, Music Festival, Fun Run, Bubble and Rave Party, Grand Concert, and Grand Fireworks Display are among the festival highlights.

The festival’s traffic management plan, security plan, financial plan, and sporting activities were reviewed with the department heads.

The Bambanti Festival, named after the Ilocano word for “scarecrow,” was first celebrated in May, the province’s founding month, in 1997, during the term of then-governor Benjamin Dy.

Vice Governor Dy III, who was governor in 2011, wrote the resolution that shifted the event to January.
