Early this month, the Meycauayan local government inaugurated the new and improved Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Meycauayan dormitory, led by Mayor Henry Villarica and Jail Warden Kim Allen Cristal on Nov. 29, 2023, in Brgy. Camalig.
According to Villarica, the LGU funded P1.9M facilities to improve the living conditions for the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) with additional accommodation that will be enough for 50 to 70 people, including renovating the septic tank, among other developments.
The BJMP-led event distributed food packs to the PDLs and rice cookers for the communal kitchen.
Also present as the Guest of Honor was Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary Serafin Barretto, Jr.
