SAN PABLO CITY, Laguna – Mayor Vicente Amante has announced that the city government is doubling the daily salary of about 1,107 casual and job-order employees to P400 starting on Sept. 1.

Benefiting from the move are 854 casual and job order employees of the executive branch and 253 similar employees of the legislative branch, who were grateful to Mayor Amante “for this great help.”

San Pablo City Mayor Vicente Amante

Amante announced it at the flag raising program in front of the Old Capitol Building on Monday, as the daily salary of casual and JO employees will be increased from the previous P200.

Due to the lack of funds for raising the salaries of these staff, some positions for executive assistants were not allowed to be renewed, the mayor mentioned.

According to Amante, one of his priorities is to implement programs to save the city government from expenses and to have sufficient funds for raising the salaries of all non-permanent employees.

The mayor also called on the Sangguniang Panglungsod led by Vice Mayor Justin Colago to legislate savings programs for raising the salaries of the non-permanent staff.

Mayor Amante thanked all the casual and job order employees who have performed their duties efficiently and effectively. Roy Tomandao
