Alicia mayor vows aid for town’s students

Alicia, Isabela—Mayor Joel Amos Alejandro here said he will continue to provide support for the elementary and secondary students in this town to help their parents in providing their educational needs.

Alejandro said the local government unit has been shouldering the miscellaneous fees of public elementary schoolers in the municipality to unburden their parents.

“This was started by former Mayor and now Third District Rep. Ian Dy which will inspire our schoolers in our municipality to do good in their studies,” Alejandro said.

Free school bags and educational supplies are also given yearly to elementary schoolers before the opening of their classes, he added.

Alejandro said he will introduce innovation for the educational assistance programs for secondary students by June next year.

“I have talked to Grade 5 & 6 teachers to provide me a list of the student’ needs so that I will buy them like textbooks, how many is needed so that everyone will be given with such assistance,” he said.

Alejandro also said the local government has implemented a feeding program for all children in the municipality to maximize the benefits of the nutrition program.
