Balanga City—A total of 212 reviewers for board licensure examinations recently received their financial assistance under the Iskolar ng Bataan program here.

Vice Gov. Cris Garcia spearheaded the distribution held at the Bataan Department of Education office.

Iskolar ng Bataan coordinator Ramon Canas said reviewers who were already program beneficiaries got P5,000 in financial assistance, and those who were not received P3,000.

“You will pass the exam,” Canas quoted the vice governor in encouraging the beneficiaries.

“Beware of fake news proliferating in social media,” Garcia also warned them.

The vice governor also advised beneficiaries to visit the Hotjobs Bataan website and the Facebook page Iskolar ng Bataan Alumni.

Canas said a new batch of board reviewer-beneficiaries is being processed in their office.

He said a total of 2,553 board exam reviewers from the province already benefitted from the program since it started in 2017.

Two years ago, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan through Garcia’s leadership unanimously passed a resolution giving financial assistance to poor but deserving graduates who are residents of the province reviewing for board and bar examinations.

Before becoming vice governor, Garcia was the original coordinator of the Iskolar ng Bataan. She now serves as adviser of the program.

The late Governor Tet Garcia and then-2nd district congressman Albert Garcia hatched in 2005 the Iskolar ng Bataan program, benefitting thousands of college students from the province.
