RP Energy Corporate Social Responsibility Officer Jason Gavina accepted the recognition given by the barangay, led by Chairman Arturo Manzano, in their council session this week.

“RP Energy has shown its unrelenting support in a lot of our projects and we are very grateful for that. We hope they never get tired of helping our barangay,” said Manzano.

The company has been a consistent partner in Balaybay’s various activities and festivities, he added.

Last year, the company joined local officials, employee volunteers, and residents of Balaybay in planting 150 forest and fruit-bearing tree seedlings under its Adopt-a-Forest project. The barangay is planning on converting the area into an eco park.

RP Energy has also conducted medical missions called “KliniKaBarangay” to the residents of Balaybay. This is in coordination with the municipal health office of Castillejos.

More than 250 residents in every medical mission had availed of free medical consultation, medicines, dental services, and reading glasses.

“Our CSR contribution may not be as huge, but we are deeply grateful for this recognition by the local council. Aside from contributing to our country’s energy security, we are happy to be partners with the local government in uplifting the community,” Gavina said.

RP Energy is the developer of a 2×300 MW coal-fired power plant in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
