Vizcaya traders earn P5m from Alabang market stint

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya —Local entrepreneurs brought in close to P5 million in sales during their recent participation in the annual marketing event dubbed “NV Goes to Alabang.”

Judith Asuncion, marketing event coordinator, said event from Aug. 25 to Sept. 3 at the Festival Mall in Alabang saw brisk sales for the 34 product exhibitors from across Nueva Vizcaya.

“The exhibited and sold products ranged from furniture, food products, handicraft items and other souvenir products, among others, made by our local producers,” Asuncion said.

The “NV Goes to Alabang” event, now on its 14th year, serves as one of the marketing and promotional activities of the provincial government in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry to bring Nueva Vizcaya products to the local and international markets.

“Aside from the spot sales, there were also orders made by customers, and this will bring in additional income for our local entrepreneurs,” Asuncion said.

Rentals of the exhibitors at the mall during the event were shouldered jointly by the provincial government and DTI.

Senator Cynthia Villar, chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, was the guest speaker during the opening program of the 10-day marketing event.
