CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela–Farmers in this province will receive P1.19 billion worth of farm assistance and projects from the Department of Agriculture as announced during the recent farmers’ forum at the Faustino Dy Coliseum here.
Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol declared this as he was joined by DA Regional Executive Director Lucrecio Alviar Jr., Governor Faustino Dy III, Rep. Napoleon Dy, Rep. Rodito Albano, Anak-IP Party-list Rep. Jose Panganiban, Board Members Atty. Randolph Arreola, Manuel Alejandro, and Rolly Tugade and executives of the different towns here.
“We need to provide better services for our farmers, thus this assistance will boost the agriculture production in Isabela being the top producer of corn and number two in rice production,” Piñol said.
“Food security and sufficiency can be achieved through three ways: Fast and effective technology transfer; easy credit scheme for farmers; and efficient marketing strategy of farm products,” Piñol stressed during the “Patangan: Gobyerno ken Umili” forum.
