A fire broke out in a three-story residential building that killed eight people and injured another one in Barangay San Isidro, Quezon City early Thursday morning.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire reached the first alarm at 2:02 a.m. and was declared out by 2:48 a.m.
The occupants of the building owned by one Ruth Capili woke up when the blaze was already huge.
The BFP did not divulge the identities of those who perished in the fire, but only provided their ages and genders: two females aged 34, a 29-year-old male, a two-year-old male, a 20-year-old female, a 40-year-old male, a 12-year-old male and a 15-year-old female.
A certain Jophel Samosa, 36, sustained a laceration on his left elbow and received treatment from the BFP’s Emergency Medical Services.
Damage to property was estimated at P3.6 million.
Authorities are now looking into the possible cause of the fire.
