A 78-year-old man married his 35-year-old wife during a mass wedding ceremony organized by the local government unit (LGU) of Dasmariñas City, Cavite on Valentine’s Day in a public arena that saw at least 643 exchanging vows.
Orolustre Guray and Anna Rose Catle of Barangay Sampalok 4 have been together for 16 years, but only had the opportunity to make their union legal on February 14, 2025. They have two children aged 15 and 7.
Church of God Dasmariñas Pastor Ronald Camiling solemnized the wedding ceremony themed “Journey to Forever” with Mayor Jennifer Austria-Barzaga acting as principal sponsor of the Caviteño couples. She reminded all the brides and grooms to work together and strengthen their families.
“Family is the basic unit of society. So, when the family is in order, the community is also in order,” the mayor said.

Re-electionist Senator Francis Tolentino was also present as guest of honor and co-principal sponsor. He gifted the couples with food baskets.
By the end of the ceremony, a raffle draw was held for the newlyweds with bikes, appliances, cell phones, and cash among the prizes.
Some 1,336 couples are scheduled to be married in Cavite during the entire month of February or the so-called ‘love month.’
Aside from Dasmariñas City, other areas also organized mass wedding events such as Rosario (65 couples), Bacoor City (100 couples), Noveleta (20 couples), General Trias (30 couples), and Emilio Aguinaldo or formerly Bailen (30 couples).
Other localities also held or will hold similar activities, including Tagaytay City, Cavite City, Imus City, Trece Martires City and Barangay Balubad in Silang, Cavite.
