The local government of Cavite City said it is prepared to distribute its annual ‘Noche Buena’ package to 35,000 families for the approaching Christmas season.
Mayor Denver Chua recently led the repacking of various products in holiday-themed bags that will be delivered to Caviteños in the city’s 84 barangays.
“We want every Caviteño family to feel the true spirit of Christmas. That is giving and love,” Chua said in a telephone interview.
In addition, the Giant Christmas Tree and Nativity scene have been opened in Samonte Park in front of the City Hall to spread joy in the city. The Christmas Village and Unlad Pier located at the back of the City Hall are also featured.
Locals can also shop and dine at the Paskuhan Baratillo Bazaar along Samonte Park that is open daily from 5PM to 10PM.
Also featured in said city is the annual Bangenge Festival on December 10, a parade of giant cartoon characters made of papier-mâché, highlighting the city’s festival celebration.
Some 50 giant cartoon characters and “Kuneho” (rabbit) entries made by city students and local villages were showcased at Montano Hall and subsequently paraded along the streets of the city.
The Bangenge festival has been a tradition in Cavite City since 1970.
