The Tactical Operations Wing Western Mindanao (TOW WestMin) through the Tactical Operations Group Sulu-Tawi-Tawi (TOG SulTaw) of the Philippine Air Force (PAF), carried out another Trilateral Air Patrol (TAP) over the borders of Sulu and Tawi-Tawi utilizing an NC-212i aircraft on June 3.

This is part of the collaborative initiative among Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines (INDOMALPHI) to boost peace and security in the area.

The air patrol mission involved personnel from various units, including PAF’s 300th Air Intelligence and Security Wing, TOW WestMin, 220th Airlift Wing, TOG SulTaw, Philippine Navy, Joint Task Force Tawi-Tawi, Naval Intelligence and Security Group, and Western Mindanao Command.

The TAP bolstered joint aerial presence in the region, facilitating reconnaissance and surveillance of suspicious foreign vessels and unusual maritime activities. This proactive approach significantly contributes to the prevention of cross-border security threats such as terrorism, piracy, and human trafficking, among others.

This continuous initiative reaffirms the PAF’s commitment to maintaining regional peace and security within the broader context of the INDOMALPHI region.
