1.4-m hectares of agri lands up for distribution in Cagayan

The Department of Agrarian Reform is set to distribute 1,416.35 hectares of agricultural lands to 901 farmer-beneficiaries in Cagayan Valley Region, and to turn over infrastructure facilities worth P263.8 million as well as farm machineries and equipment worth P23.63 million today (Wednesday).

Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III will spearhead the distribution of land titles and various support services to the agrarian reform beneficiaries.

At least 1,117 certificates of land ownership award/emancipation patent (CLOA/EP) shall be distributed in Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino.

Of the 1,117 land titles, 620 are electronic titles issued under the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling Projects (SPLIT Project), and 497 are CLOAs issued under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program.

Of the P230 million worth of infrastructure facilities, 17 comprise the construction of farm-to-market roads with a P33.8-million bridge constructed in Isabela and a P15-million road project in Cagayan.

Eighty farm machineries and equipment will be turned over to 23 farmer-organizations in the region to benefit 3,105 farmers.
