THE Las Pinas City government has provided financial aid to 3,000 beneficiaries under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.
The pay-out of the subsidy of P3,000 per beneficiary, was supervised by Vice Mayor April Aguilar and Senator Imee Marcos, held at the Verdant Covered Court in Barangay Pamplona Tres.
The AICS program provides various forms of assistance to indigent citizens for medical, burial, transportation, educational, food, and financial purposes.
The program was conducted in close coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
According to the vice mayor, the two-day AICS program’s success highlighted the positive impact of collaborative governance on people’s lives.
She added that the program’s outreach increased on the second day, indicating a pressing need for support in the community, and the government’s responsive action to meet this challenge.
Aguilar also said Senator Marcos’ presence emphasized the national government’s support for local initiatives aimed at alleviating poverty.
The vice mayor also emphasized the importance of the concerted efforts of local and national officials in prioritizing and addressing the welfare of the most vulnerable in the face of economic and social challenges in the city.
