The Taguig City government has turned over brand-new ambulances to Barangays Comembo and Rizal to ensure swift health emergency response for residents.

These two barangays were formerly under the jurisdiction of Makati City.

Comembo village councilor Cielita Cortez expressed gratitude to Mayor Laarni Cayetano for her dedication to the health and welfare of their community. She said that the new ambulance will ensure their constituents receive unhindered and quality health services.

“The old ambulance was taken [but] the replacement was very nice. [There are] things we have lost, the Lord will replace them with something better!” Cortez said.

In Barangay Rizal, Councilor Vladimir Lucido, who heads the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management team, said that the new emergency vehicle will help a lot of people. He said their barangay has 100,000 households, and he believes that this ambulance will greatly benefit them.

Cayetano assured city residents and those residing in the 10 EMBO villages, now under the control and jurisdiction of Taguig, will be provided free and accessible health services.

The local government has taken swift action to ensure that health services continue in the EMBO area after the closure of the eight health centers by Makati.

It also offers the Doctor-on-Call program and Home Health service, where EMBO residents can avail of medical services and free nursing services in the confines of their homes. Senior citizens, residents with serious medical conditions and illnesses, and emergency patients may also avail of the programs.

The city recently opened its first Satellite Pharmacy in East Rembo last Jan. 5, which provides free maintenance medications for diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and prescriptions from telemedicine consultations. The satellite office also offers medical and PhilHealth assistance.

Taguig City also launched a new health center in Barangay Post Proper Southside, bringing the city’s health services closer to the residents.

Cayetano said her city is committed to ensuring a “Transformative, Lively, and Caring Probinsyudad” that will benefit every Taguigeño.
