Passover Sacrifice

Samaritans take part in the traditional Passover sacrifice at Mount Gerizim near the northern West Bank city of Nablus on May 3, 2023. Only around 800 Samaritans remain in their two communities, one on the mount and one in the Israeli city of Holon, near Tel Aviv. According to their beliefs, they trace their lineage to the Israelites whom Moses led out of slavery in Egypt and who established themselves in the biblical northern kingdom of Israel, known as Samaria.
