The Philippine National Police destroys illegal firecrackers confiscated ahead of the New Year celebrations by first dousing them. In Cavite, policemen led by Provincial Officer-In-Charge PCol. Marlon R. Santos leads the disposal of P452,847 worth of pyrotechnics at Camp General Pantaleon Garcia in Imus City.

In Laguna, the Laguna Police Provincial Office in partnership with the Sta. Cruz Fire Station defuses about 2,000 kinds of firecrackers in a ceremony led by Provincial Director PCol. Eleazar P Matta (holding the fire house), PLt. Col. Pastor P. Castillo, Deputy Provincial Director for Operations, PLt. Col. Vincent C. Templo, Deputy PD for Administration, Senior Fire Officer 2 Paquito Buenaventura and FO3 Jordan Policarpio.
