Water contingency

Manila Water Company Inc. readies its water supply contingency and augmentation programs, in coordination with Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System and National Water Resources Board, to help ensure availability of water to customers even during the dry months, when demand for water reaches its peak. These programs include operation of deep wells, maximization of the Cardona Water Treatment Plant in Rizal, backwash water recovery and pressure management. Shown is the 63-year-old Balara Treatment Plant 2, Manila Water’s largest water treatment plant, whose yield comprise up to 75 percent of the company’s total production.
