A farmer in Barangay Cuba, Kapangan, Benguet shifts to more profitable root crops such as sweet potatoes as wholesale prices of highland vegetables remain low. Farmers say sweet potatoes sell for P60 to P70 per kilo, have a longer shelf life, and provide better returns than cruciferous and leafy vegetables.
