Philippine Navy, BRP Jose Rizal (FF150)

A simple send-off ceremony was held officers and men of the Philippine Navy’s brand new frigate Jose Rizal at Alava Wharf, SBMA in Zambales on July 29, as it departs for the RIMPAC 20 (Rim of the Pacific Exercise 20) in Hawaii, the largest joint and combined naval exercise among US and Asia-Pacific navies. Also joining RIMPAC 20 are members of the Naval Task Group (NTG) 80.5 who are onboard the newly-commissioned BRP Jose Rizal (FF150) along with a AW109 naval helicopter. The NTG 80.5 is headed by its FF150’s commanding officer, Capt. Jerry Garrido Jr. as the concurrent contingent commander, and complemented by surface, services and support components.
