Shaburi Mitsukoshi BGC: Comfort food in every pot

Mugen Group, the company that introduced some of the most popular Japanese dining concepts in the country, recently held the grand opening of its premier Japanese shabu-shabu restaurant, Shaburi located on the 2nd floor of Mitsukoshi BGC.

“Since we held our soft opening last August, the customer feedback has been really great,” said Hubert U. Young, President and CEO of Mugen Group.

He said the newest location is a reflection of the company’s commitment to providing authentic Japanese dining experiences and excellent Filipino service to more people in the country.

Customers are spoiled for choice with Shaburi’s quality meats, flavorful broths, and an array of Japanese side dishes.

“This new branch also represents our growth as a company, the hard work of our team, and the support of our loyal customers,” he said.

The Shaburi brand name is derived from the word “shabu-shabu” and the “ri” character which is read as sato — meaning hometown or village in Japanese.

What distinguishes Shaburi from other shabu-shabu restaurants is its personalized dining concept. Here, each customer is provided their own hot pot instead of the shared pot. Customers can also choose whether they want a single or twin pot.

Seafood platter

Shaburi’s mouthwatering selection includes quality meats, flavorful broths, and an array of Japanese side dishes such as sushi rolls, tempura, chawanmushi, and karaage, among others.

The restaurant’s flavorful soup choices include the Original Konbu — its famous broth made with kombucha, the King of Seaweeds, that has a natural umami taste and is low on calories but rich in minerals — and Chicken Collagen Paitan, a thick and creamy white chicken soup that’s made of bountiful collagen, making it perfect for those who want to achieve smooth skin.

Other soup selections include the Hot Miso, which has a flavorful spiciness and provides the health benefits of miso; Beef Pepper, a delicate soup that is best matched with beef; and Sukiyaki, a traditional Japanese broth that balances sweet and savory flavor.

Special Wagyu

Shaburi’s meat choices, meanwhile, consist of low-fat pork, tasty beef, pork belly and tender chicken. Customers can also opt for premium meat selections like the Iberico Pork Collar, Angus Beef and Wagyu.

“We’d like to invite everyone to visit Shaburi at Mitsukoshi BGC to enjoy an authentic Japanese shabu-shabu experience. We’ve created a space for everyone to enjoy great food with family and friends,” said Young.
