Manila Standard’s highly anticipated cooking showdown, Clash of Kawali, has culminated in the second season of its Mother’s Day Special on May 11.

This year, three teams consisting of mother-child pairs competed to prepare healthy and filling dishes from ingredients they purchased using a P1,000-budget.

The output could be their specialty or something they love serving to their families.

Participating teams included mommy Diane and Kyle Iñigo Dela Cruz, mommy Neri and Nash Valino, and mommy Grace and Chloe Villacarlos.

Ultimately, the Dela Cruz team won this year’s Clash of Kawali. Their winning dish was none other than fried rice and special eggplant omelette.

The Dela Cruz family took home a prize of P7,500, among other perks like free hotel accommodations, on top of the Golden Kawali trophy.
