PLDT Global Corp. teamed up with SandBox Middle East, the largest Filipino-owned distributor of Philippine-made food and grocery items in the Gulf region to expand its mobile and digital services in the Middle East.

Under the partnership, Filipinos in the Middle East will be able to purchase Smart and TNT mobile load, pay bills and avail of electronic gifts via SandBox ME’s extensive retail and direct-to-consumer network.

“We are happy to have a like-minded partner that fully understands the Filipino culture, character and psyche in the Middle East,” said Albert Villa-Real, president and chief executive of PLDT Global.

“This is another step towards our goal of bringing services available locally to our Filipino workers abroad as we continue to help empower and uplift our kababayans,” he said.

Customers of PLDT’s international arm will benefit from the extensive reach of SandBox ME, including a network of mom-and-pop convenience stores that OFWs frequent for their shopping needs.
