Now Telecom rolls out broadband services

Now Telecom Inc. of the Velarde family is accelerating the rollout of broadband services nationwide following a partnership with Singapore-based HyalRoute Group and Philippine Fiber Optic Cable Network Ltd..

Now Telecom president Rodolfo Pantoja said the partnership with HyalRoute and PFOCN would speed up the company’s nationwide deployment through the availability of a transmission backbone.

The company earlier signed a memorandum of understanding with PFOCN over the co-use of its fiber infrastructure assets nationwide.

The agreement will enable the parties to collaborate on the commercial use of shared fiber infrastructure assets, including access to fiber-optic cores and other related facilities.

Pantoja said when coupled with NOW’s fixed wireless capability for the last mile and using spectrum exclusive to it, the company can reach consumers faster than a pure fiber-based broadband provider at a fraction of their capital expenditure.
