The Department of Trade and Industry will initiate proceedings to investigate the alleged dumping of cement from Vietnam following complaints filed by three local manufacturers.
Cemex Philippines, Holcim Philippines Inc. and Republic Cement Builders and Building Materials Inc. submitted an application for the anti-dumping investigation of cement products imported from Vietnam.
A notice released by the DTI showed the three cement firms presented evidence supporting claims of anti-dumping practices. The products covered by the investigation are cement classified under AHTN Codes 2523.29.90 and 2353.90.00.
The investigation for anti-dumping covers the cement imported from July 2019 to June 2020, while the period of investigation for injury is from 2017 to June 2020.
The DTI asked interested parties to submit comments, evidence and information relevant to the investigation.
