BOI endorses MPIC’s P3.4-b farm projects

Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC) secured green lane certificates of endorsement for two agricultural projects with combined investments of P3.4 billion from the Board of Investments (BOI).

Trade Undersecretary and BOI managing head Ceferino Rodolfo said the One-Stop Action Center for Strategic Investments awarded the certificates of endorsement for green lane processing to Metro Pacific Fresh Farms Inc. (MPFF) and Metro Pacific Dairy Farms Inc. (MPDF) in November 2023.

The MPFF, located in San Rafael, Bulacan, is a state-of-the-art facility designed to be the largest vegetable greenhouse in the Philippines. Itpromotes sustainable farming practices and modern technology to reduce resource consumption.

It is expected to start commercial operation by the fourth quarter of 2024 to produce high-quality, locally-sourced organic vegetables.

The second project, the integrated dairy farm project, aims to replace imported milk with locally-produced alternatives, enhancing food security and addressing value chain gaps.

The project, situated in Bay, Laguna, will increase local milk production capacity by 20 percent to 30,000 liters per day. It is estimated to commence commercial operations by the first quarter of 2025.

The green lane endorsement expedites permit and license approvals for strategic investments under Executive Order No. 18.
