West zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc. expects a fair and reasonable result of the ongoing review on its concession agreement, a top executive said Thursday.
“We have started formal communications. We expect the process to conclude soon to allow us to effectively exercise our mandate and continue the programs that will benefit our clients,” Maynilad president and chief executive Ramon Fernandez said in a virtual briefing Thursday that quickly followed the webinar “Earth Day Talk: From Source to Communities”, in observance of the Earth Day.
Fernandez said the company would actively cooperate with the government. He said that while water utility firms agreed to temporarily suspend new tariffs until December 2022, Maynilad would continue to implement ongoing water management and water services program.
The company is ramping up initiatives to protect vital watersheds, which replenish the dams that serve the water needs of about 15 million people in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
