Heeding the call of the government for solidarity and support, the Yuchengco Group of Companies, through chairperson Helen Yuchengco Dee, assured all employees of the conglomerate will continue to have their jobs and receive their full monthly salary during the lockdown period.
Dee’s commitment followed Labor Secretary Secretary Silvestre Bello’s appeal to the private sector to provide assistance to workers and employees during the enhanced community quarantine. The government agency specifically requested the employers extend financial assistance to employees, especially for the daily wage workers, to tide them over during the public emergency.
“I would like to reassure that all employees of the Yuchengco Group of Companies will continue to have jobs and none will be laid off and will continue to receive their full monthly salary, not charged to their 13th month pay,” Dee said in a letter to Bello. YGC is one of the oldest conglomerates in the Philippines whose diversified businesses include financial services, real estate, education, construction and healthcare, among others.
