Megaworld building second hotel in 462-hectare Palawan eco-township

Megaworld Corp., the property development company of businessman Andrew Tan, said Thursday it is building a second hotel in its eco-township project in Palawan. The project is expected to be operational by 2029.

Megaworld said in a disclosure to the stock exchange the 10-story Paragua Sands Hotel would have 313 guest rooms and suites ideal for tourists and travelers in San Vicente town.

“We are very excited to introduce our 20th hotel property in our portfolio, and what better destination to host it than in San Vicente, Palawan, which is home to the longest beachline in the country and the second longest in the entire Southeast Asia,” said Cleofe Albiso, managing director of Megaworld Hotels and Resorts.

Room types and sizes range from twin suite (up to 32 square meters), queen suite (up to 32.5 square meters), junior suite (up to 61 square meters), executive suite (up to 60.5 square meters) and presidential suite (140 square meters).

The hotel will also have a dedicated specially-abled suites (up to 34 square meters) for guests needing special room arrangements during their stay.

It will feature a ballroom that can accommodate up to 220 people, function rooms that can host up to 80 individuals and meeting rooms that can have up to 66 people as well as a business center.

Among the hotel amenities include swimming pool and kiddie pool, a pool deck with seating area, an outdoor deck and balconies, a kid’s club, spa with treatment rooms, fitness center with yoga area and wet and dry sauna.

The hotel, to be managed and operated by Megaworld Hotels & Resorts, is situated right beside Savoy Hotel Palawan and Oceanfront Premier Residences, the first hotel and residential condominium developments inside the 462-hectare Paragua Coastown ecotourism project.

Megaworld has launched 20 hotel properties, including 12 facilities that are now operational with around 5,000 hotel room keys.

Megaworld earlier committed to pour in P40 billion to develop Paragua Coastown, which will feature hotels and resorts, health and wellness sanctuaries, cultural center, educational institutions, a boutique hotel district, a shophouse district and residential developments such as private villas, serviced apartments, themed residential villages and a mangrove reserve park.
