The Anti-Red Tape Authority said Friday it expedited the release of 35,146 various types of government permits from July 2019 to June 2021.
Figures released by the agency included the 8,510 permits, licenses, clearance and certifications which were automatically approved or released by government agencies.
It also launched its flagship National Effort for Harmonization of Efficient Measures of Inter-related Agencies program that aims to reduce the processes, requirements and processing time by 52 percent for five priority sectors. The program is in line with ARTA’s commitment to fight corruption in government through streamlining, eradication of red tape, collaboration and innovation.
Included in the expedited processes were the streamlining of the permitting process for telecommunications towers which led to the release of 26,636 pending permits in the telecommunications sector. These included 3,090 for DITO Telco; 21,689 for PLDT/Smart; and 1,857 for Globe Telecom.
