ARTA, BARMM sign agreement to streamline gov’t services in Mindanao

The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) and the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MILG-BARMM) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Aug. 2, 2024 to streamline government services and promote ease of doing business in the region.

Under the MOU, ARTA will assist MILG in re-engineering and streamlining government processes, providing regulatory impact assessment training and identifying potential investment areas for collaboration with foreign chambers of commerce.

“It has been my priority to reach out to our brothers and sisters in the BARMM Region, in order to share whatever knowledge and expertise that we have gained in the process of implementing Republic Act 11032,” said ARTA Secretary Ernesto Perez.

The collaboration is expected to benefit businesses and citizens by making government services more accessible, reducing red tape and attracting investments.

It will also contribute to the overall goal of streamlining government services and combating corruption in the country.

These efforts are expected to lead to faster and more efficient government services, reduced costs for businesses, increased job opportunities, and a more business-friendly environment in the BARMM region.

MILG Minister Sha Elijah Dumama-Alba said the partnership is a significant step towards achieving the goals of the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) law and creating a more conducive environment for economic growth in the region.
