Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) said Friday it anticipates a 10-percent increase in vehicle traffic during the Holy Week period.
MPTC operates the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), NLEX Connector Road, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) and Cebu-Cordova Expressway (CCLEX)
MPTC said that in response to the projected surge, it developed a multifaceted strategy centered on providing a range of enhanced assistance services, increasing toll plaza efficiency through RFID awareness campaigns and promoting responsible road safety practices.
“MPTC’s role during Holy Week goes beyond traffic management by taking measures towards ensuring a travel experience that’s safe, seamless, and reassuring,” said MPTC president and chief executive Jose Ma. Lim.
“’Biyaheng Arangkada Semana Santa’ reflects our commitment to service that anticipates the needs of our motorists and helps families reconnect and travel with peace of mind,” he said.
MPTC said to ensure a smoother and safer Holy Week journey, it is bolstering its on-ground presence with a comprehensive range of readily available assistance for motorists.
Travelers can access 24/7 on-call support for roadside emergencies through the hotline (1-35000) and the MPT DriveHub app. Strategically positioned roadside assistance stations will be readily accessible.
MPTC said it would also deploy over 2,000 personnel across its expressways from April 8 to optimize traffic flow and respond to incidents.
