MR DIY Philippines pioneered energy retail aggregation in the home improvement retail industry, aggregating 28 of its branches in the Greater Manila Area totaling 746.51 kilowatts (KW), through the ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions (ACEN RES).
Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) chairperson and chief executive Monalisa Dimalanta joined industry leaders, including officials from the ACEN RES, Manila Electric Co. and the Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines (IEMOP), in leading the ceremonial unveiling of the “Powered by Renewable Energy” Badge for Mr. DIY.
Dimalanta lauded Mr. DIY for making the switch and urged the retail company to expand its aggregation footprint by transitioning the rest of its 752 branches to the Retail Aggregation Program (RAP).
“We encourage you to be RAP advocates, not just participants. Help spread the word about the benefits of the RAP to your suppliers, your concessionaires, and even to your customers,” Dimalanta said.
