Aboitiz Foods, through its subsidiary Pilmico Animal Nutrition Corp. (Pilmico), supported the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion, Armor Division (Philippine Army) in a community outreach activity in Sitio Tangan-Tangan, San Jose, Tarlac.
Residents of Sitio Tangan-Tangan, a remote mountain community, face significant challenges in accessing food, healthcare and education.
Aboitiz Foods donated 215 trays of eggs during a gift-giving and feeding activity organized by the Philippine Army for the residents in February.
The initiative also introduced a goat-raising livelihood project funded by the local government to promote self-sufficiency among residents.
The program, conducted in collaboration with government agencies, local government units and private sector partners, aligns with the company’s mission, dubbed “Sustainably Feeding Asia’s Growth from Mill to Meal.”
As a committed partner in nourishing communities, Aboitiz Foods expressed its appreciation for the Philippine Army’s efforts in reaching remote areas.
Aboitiz Foods corporate social responsibility (CSR) specialist Pinky Baroman cited the importance of sustainable livelihoods in community development.
“We fully support the government and the Philippine Army in their livelihood programs and community outreach activities that help uplift geographically disadvantaged communities. With the right support and strong partnerships, sustainable livelihoods can truly transform lives for the better,” she said.
Aboitiz Foods, through Pilmico, has distributed 1,929 livelihood kits to over 1,093 beneficiaries nationwide in 2024.
