“This gathering represents a defining moment for social security in our region,” GSIS president and ASSA chairman Jose Arnulfo Veloso said in a statement.
“With combined assets exceeding $1 trillion, ASEAN social security institutions have tremendous power to shape sustainable development across our economies,” said Veloso.
Delegations from Brunei, Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar and Singapore will join Philippine Social Security Association officials from the Social Security System, the Philippine Health Insurance Corp., the Home Development Mutual Fund, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office and the Employees Compensation Commission, as well as the GSIS.
Cabinet secretaries from the Departments of Environment and Natural Resources, Tourism, Finance and Foreign Affairs were also invited to the summit, the GSIS said.
