Glenwood Services Philippines Inc. (GSPI) registered with the Board of Investments (BOI) to launch the first pharmaceutical services project in the country.
A subsidiary of Germany-based Glenwood GmbH, GSPI opened its new facility in Taguig City to offer quality, regulatory affairs and pharmacovigilance services to help pharmaceutical companies ensure drug safety, manage risks and maintain global compliance.
GSPI created high-level jobs in the Philippines, tapping into the country’s pool of highly educated and skilled professionals, including pharmacists, chemists and medical science graduates.
The German company acknowledged the crucial role of BOI in helping establish its presence in the Philippines, providing support and guidance throughout the registration process.
The BOI manages incentives under the CREATE Act and CREATE MORE Act, including special corporate income tax rates, income tax holidays, value-added tax exemptions and enhanced expense deductions under simplified tax regimes for registered businesses—reinforcing the country’s position as an attractive destination for foreign investors.
Ferdinand Matz, general manager of Glenwood, recognized the advantages of the Philippines that affected their decision to operate in the country.
“We are amazed by the incredible talent in the Philippines. The education, skills, and training here is impressive. We look forward to expanding our Pharmaceutical Services project and growing our presence in the Philippines,” said Matz.
GSPI’s entry into the Philippine market underscores the country’s ability to meet international standards and position it as a hub for highly specialized services in the region.
Ariel Arriola, managing partner of Arriola & Relato Law Offices (ARRELaw), which assisted Glenwood in setting up operations and securing BOI registration, noted the broad impact of the project in the Philippine investment landscape.
“Glenwood’s investment is a testament to the investibility of the Philippines. It highlights the capability of Filipinos to provide critical services needed by the global market. The Philippine government, led by the BOI, is committed to creating a healthy and attractive business environment for foreign companies,” said Arriola.
Glenwood GmbH, based in southern Germany, is a pharmaceutical marketing authorization holder (MAH) specializing in regulatory affairs, quality and pharmacovigilance. The company also distributes and markets niche products in various countries worldwide.
