The latest PwC 2025 Global CEO Survey revealed that 75 percent of Philippine CEOs trust artificial intelligence (AI) to transform their core business processes, underscoring a strategic shift towards technological innovation as a cornerstone of growth strategies.
The survey, unveiled at the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, gathered insights from over 4,700 CEOs worldwide.
“The rapid advancement of AI and digital technologies is fundamentally reshaping how businesses operate and compete in today’s market. While reinvention is essential for navigating these changes, it requires careful planning and measured implementation with a focus on skills development and workforce readiness to meet future demands,” said PwC Philippines chairman and senior partner Roderick Danao.
The survey highlighted the commitment of Philippine business leaders to systematically integrate AI into their companies within three years.
About 88 percent of Philippine CEOs anticipate embedding AI into their processes and technology platforms to drive operational efficiency, enhance decision-making and improve customer experiences.
PwC Philippines deals and corporate finance managing partner Mary Jade Roxas-Divinagracia noted how AI is already driving change at PwC Philippines.
“We are integrating GenAI into our operations with tools like ChatPwC, a secure virtual assistant tailored to our needs. Businesses that strategically embed AI can unlock opportunities for transformative growth while enhancing operations. Responsible AI is key to unlocking organizational success,” she said.
While Philippine CEOs are optimistic about AI, nearly 28 percent cite a shortage of skilled workers and technological disruption as significant hurdles.
Almost 70 percent believe their businesses may not remain economically viable beyond the next decade unless they adapt to emerging trends.
The survey also revealed that more than half of Philippine CEOs, about 53 percent, have yet to make significant climate-friendly investments, highlighting a critical area for future development.
