Philippine Airlines (PAL) solidified its position as a leader in on-time performance, securing the seventh spot among the most punctual airlines in the Asia-Pacific region in 2024.
PAL was the sole Philippine carrier to achieve a top 10 ranking in Cirium’s “Top Airline Performers” for the Asia-Pacific region.
According to the 2024 Cirium On-Time Performance Report, PAL recorded an on-time arrival performance of 76.06 percent, covering over 112,000 flights across the Philippine flag carrier’s global network.
For the month of January 2024 in particular, PAL clinched the #1 Most Punctual Airline spot with an on-time performance of 86.85 percent.
“We greatly appreciate the recognition for the monumental efforts of our employees, service partners and industry stakeholders in achieving this on-time performance milestone, which affirms the long-term investments we are making in enhancing reliability and efficiency in all our operations, and always at the highest level of safety in line with Philippine Airlines’ uncompromising safety culture,” said PAL president and chief operating officer Capt. Stanley Ng.
The seventh-place ranking puts PAL ahead of most Southeast Asian, Chinese, Korean and Australian carriers. Airlines from Japan, New Zealand, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Australia rounded out the top ten list for 2024.
