KPMG R.G. Manabat & Co. vice chair and chief operating officer Emmanuel Bonoan was elected as the 77th president of the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) for 2025.
Bonoan brings extensive experience in both public and private sectors. At KPMG R.G. Manabat & Co., he led the firm’s expansion from 250 to nearly 2,000 employees, establishing it as one of the country’s leading audit, tax and advisory firms.
Bonoan served as undersecretary of the Department of Finance (DOF), where he implemented key initiatives to improve revenue collection.
He led the team that proposed amendments to the VAT Law, worked with Congress to secure its passage and successfully defended its constitutionality before the Supreme Court.
His efforts also included establishing enforcement programs that remain vital to tax reform implementation, earning him the Ten Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) Award for Public Service in 2004.
Bonoan said he is committed to fostering innovation, championing technology-driven strategies and advancing sustainable progress.
His vision for MAP includes shaping the future of management practices in the Philippines through transformative leadership.
Joining Bonoan in MAP leadership for 2025 are Michael Toledo, head of government relations and public affairs at Metro Pacific Investments Corp. who will serve as vice president and Wilson Tan, chairman and country managing partner at SGV & Co. who was elected as treasurer. Othel V. Campos
The board of governors also includes Rene Almendras, senior managing director at Ayala Corp.; Paolo Borromeo, president and CEO of AC Health; Rex Drilon II, vice chair of the Center for Excellence in Governance; Gil Genio, director at GT Capital Holdings; Marriane Hontiveros, managing director of CeoAdvisors; and Alfredo Panlilio, president and CEO of PLDT and Smart Communications.
Bonoan holds a Juris Doctor degree (silver medal honors) from Ateneo de Manila University School of Law, a Master of Laws in International Economic Law from the University of Warwick, UK and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.
