The Asia Pacific International Spirits & Wines Alliance (APISWA), Alcoholic Beverages Alliance of the Philippines Inc. (ABAPI) and Philippine Association of Sari-sari Store and Carinderia Owners (PASCO) on Friday launched the Philippine Standards Coalition (PSC) to foster responsible alcohol practices, protect at-risk populations and promote a culture of moderation in the Philippines.
ABAPI chairperson Nick Sonderup opened the Philippine Standards Coalition (PSC) launch at Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati City.
“As a responsible industry, we support changing drinking cultures to be safer and healthier by informing consumers and promoting moderation amongst those adults who choose to drink. We strongly believe that at-risk populations, which includes individuals who are underage, should not consume alcohol,” the PSC said.
The PSC advocates for a balanced approach that emphasizes the importance of collaboration between industry stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
“We believe that allowing for self-regulation and co-regulation can effectively reduce harmful consumption while promoting the responsible marketing, advertising, promotion and sale of our products,” it said.
