Pru Life UK is giving Filipinos access to the global technology sector with the launch of its PRULink Global Tech Navigator Fund.
The peso-denominated fund provides customers access to the ATRAM Global Technology Feeder Fund, managed by ATRAM Trust Corp. The feeder fund invests in the Fidelity Funds – Global Technology Fund of Fidelity International, which held $23.9 billion in assets as of July 2024. ATRAM, a leading digitally-powered asset and wealth management firm in the Philippines, had over P360 billion in assets under management as of June 2024.
The PRULink Global Tech Navigator Fund allows investors to participate in some of the world’s most influential technology companies, including Alphabet Inc., Amazon.com Inc., Apple Inc., Microsoft Corp., Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd.
Pru Life UK said the fund is ideal for new and existing customers with an aggressive investment risk tolerance. It allows them to invest in dollar-denominated equities using Philippine pesos, offering the potential for additional returns through favorable foreign exchange movements.
The company said that while there is potential for gains, there is also a risk of losses depending on the performance of the Philippine peso against the US dollar.
“The PRULink Global Tech Navigator Fund embodies our commitment to helping Filipinos achieve their financial goals,” said Garen Dee, Pru Life UK vice president and chief product officer.
“Through our investment-linked insurance products, we want to give our customers access to the growth of tech-driven companies worldwide, with a fund that primarily invests through ATRAM in the Fidelity Funds – Global Technology Fund of Fidelity International,” Dee said.
