The Private Sector Advisory Council – Digital Infrastructure Sector (PSAC-Digital) commended the significant strides made by the Connectivity Plan Task Force (CPTF) in improving internet connectivity across remote areas in the Philippines.

The CPTF, spearheaded by Globe Telecom Inc. president and chief executive Ernest Cu, has addressed digital connectivity challenges in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

“Connecting the unconnected is more than just a mission, it’s a commitment to equality and progress. By providing digital access to even the most remote areas, we are building a more inclusive and empowered nation. Our efforts are transforming how people in GIDAs (geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas) connect with the world, opening doors to economic and social development,” Cu said.

PSAC pitched to the President public-private partnerships to achieve sustainable and inclusive digital growth.

PSAC emphasized that bridging the digital divide is crucial to empowering Filipinos in GIDAs with access to essential resources. By establishing public-private partnerships, PSAC is ensuring no community is left behind in the digital age.

Globe has played a leading role in connecting over 500 GIDAs, granting residents access to essential online services, education, and economic opportunities.

Globe’s strategic investments in digital infrastructure are creating a ripple effect of positive change, driving economic resilience and social progress in marginalized areas.
